This unique species constructs a “drawbridge” style lid on their burrows, being hinged from the bottom. The lids are quite thick, with the burrows themselves resembling an upside down Euoplos. The spiders themselves also look incredibly unique for Arbanitis, having gorgeous patterning on the abdomen, and almost spiky hairs. They are found in coastal Newcastle, making burrows in moist embankments.
