This is a gorgeous arboreal species, a part of the genus Podomyrma, aka muscle man ants (due to the characteristic thicker segments on the legs). This species has a stunning deep red-purple head and thorax, with a dark gaster. Growing to 10-12mm in workers and 15-16mm in queens, this species is one of the larger muscleman ants.
NOTE: This species is very difficult to raise, and DOES lay trophic eggs. This is NOT a beginner species and requires a lot of patience and time.
